Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need A Partner?
Players do not require a partner for any of our practices. If asked, we will help match players up for tournaments based on their playing ability.
At what age can players start?
The official age groups for beach volleyball are 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U. Unlike indoor, beach is not separated at each single age level (12,13,14,15, etc..) We have players start as early as 9 years old.
How do the Tournaments work and where are they played?
Various programs hold tournaments throughout the DFW area. We have provided a list of these tournaments and leave it up to the athletes to which ones they want to attend. There is at least one tournament every day during the summer season. There are a few tournaments outside DFW as well. What do players wear for practice and tournaments?
For practice, players can wear whatever they like. Some of our players wear a T-shirt and shorts while others wear a swim suit. For tournaments, we would like our players to wear the CBVC top to support our program. How does sand volleyball benefit players?
Sand volleyball creates a more rounded volleyball player. To play the game, you must learn to pass, set and hit where as an indoor player may be just a setter, an outside hitter, or a middle blocker, in which they may not have to have to improve certain skills. Playing sand volleyball will also improve a player’s ball control, quickness, jumping ability, and court awareness. With sand volleyball now being a college sport, it also provides another avenue for girls to play at the next level. If I choose a 1 or 2 day program do I have to come on the same day(s)?
No…we will allow a “FLEX” schedule. You may attend any of the available practice sessions each week. What do we need to bring?
*Very Important – Please ensure that the girls have the following for practices and Tournaments: Sun Glasses, Sunblock, Towel For Tournaments (Something To Drink). Water will be available at all practices. The Sandbar will have food and other drinks available for purchase.Sidebar Menu
